<image:title>Blog - River Dialogues Across Sápmi - On the road to the centre for northern peoples in Manndalen, we stopped at the Markkina Market in Skibotn (the driest place in Norway) to explore its historic trade market. The region’s land still incorporates drying racks for fish, a nod to how dried fish once fueled Sámi trade and even supplied Swedish troops during the war. Language emerged as a cornerstone of identity: owning land here means belonging to fjords and mountains as much as to each other.</image:title>
